The ingredients needed to prepare Hare Chane ka Pulav:
- Use 3/4 cup of Hara chana or choliya.
- Get 1.5 cups of basmati rice.
- Prepare 1 of big onion, sliced thinly.
- Use 1 of medium tomato, chopped.
- Get 1/4 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Prepare 1 pinch of garam masala powder.
- Get 1 pinch of turmeric powder.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of caraway seeds.
- Use 1 of black cardamom/badi elaichi.

- Use 1 of bay leaf.
- Take 2-3 of cloves.
- Provide 1 pinch of saffron strands (kesar).

- Prepare 2 tbsp of ghee.
- Use 2.5-3 cups of water for pressure cooking the rice.
- Get a few of chopped mint leaves.
- Prepare as per taste of Salt as required.

- Get 3/4 inch of ginger.

- Get 1 tbsp of chopped mint.
- Take 1 tbsp of chopped coriander.
Instructions to make Hare Chane ka Pulav:
- Wash and rinse the rice very well in water till the water runs clear, then soak the rice in enough water for 20 to 25 mins..
- Make a smooth paste of the ingredients, mentioned under 'green paste' in a chutney grinder with very little water. keep this green paste aside..
- Chop onion and tomato too.
- In a pressure cooker heat ghee or oil and add all the whole spices – caraway seeds, cardamoms, mace, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf..
- Fry the whole garam masala or whole spices for some seconds till fragrant, and then add the sliced onions..
- Saute the onions till golden brown. now add the green paste and saute till the raw aroma of the ginger-garlic goes away. Add the chopped tomatoes..
- Also add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder. Saute the tomatoes for a minute or so and add the basmati rice..
- Mix well and saute the entire mixture for a minute. Add curd and stir. Then add saffron threads and again mix everything well..
- Add green Chana with 2.5 to 3 cups of water, season with salt and pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles..
- When the pressure settles down on it's own, then open the lid of the cooker..
- Serve with raita of your choice Pickle & papad..
